Gobekli Tepe

Ive been doing some reading on a prehistoric 'temple' that is being excavated in Turkey.

http://gobeklitepe.info/

Carbon dating has dated Gobekli Tepe at 12000 BC.

Imo, this raises alot of questions towards the Christian belief that humankind started 4000 BC (8000 years ago).

What is your opinion on this matter?

I feel like this might lead to a religiously based argument. Just warning everyone now that you're morons if you try to start something like that ^^

I love this kind of stuff, the world holds so many mysteries.

Personally, I think the theory of evolution and all that is credible, and believe it.

This also proves that Mesopotamia wasn't the first civilization, like originally believed. Interested in how recent this discovery is, though!

It was discovered in 1993 if im not correct, and theyve only uncovered about 5% of the whole thing. They say that it might take 50 more years to uncover alot more of it.

I'm just gonna say history is a whole mystery. I don't want to start a religious argument/debate about this.

This is a really amazing discovery of something so ancient. Though, I do not know too much about the religious past of this.

While I am a Christian, I believe that the story of Genesis is just a poetic narrative that wasn't meant to capture the scientific or historical aspects of the world. People often misinterpret that and take it to be literal.

Most of us live in a Capitalist society, so I'm sure you can all understand that the rich simply just want to acquire more wealth. Donations are always appreciated, and reps will be given for reasonable donations.
