Discouragement: to deprive of courage or confidence

Sometimes you are discouraged to do things you want to do in your life. And it is sad to say that sometimes this discouragement comes from places and people that it should NOT come from. For example, your home, your family etc.

Ultimately there are 2 things you can do to deal with this discouragement.

• Dont let it bother you, instead, empower yourself to do what you want or what you think is right.
  

or...

• Let it win.
  

What should you do? The answer is simple. But its better said than done. Why? Because there are so many variables in between that have great influence over your decisions. Sometimes these other variables stack up and stack up until you give up.


How do you deal with discouragement? Answer truthfully.

When I feel discouraged, I always look at my dad for support. I also think what he went through and tell myself that, "the shit I've been going through is NOTHING of what he went through." It usually works for me because I know I can get through bad times if my dad can. So trying to find someone who's been through a lot worse than yourself is comforting to know. Because you can pull through. If you still feel hopeless, NEVER stop trying to achieve your goal or to try something new. You'll feel a lot more better that you at least tried than to never try at all.

Honestly, when I feel discouraged... I kinda just deal with it. Not in the most goofiest way possible but I would try and handle it as maturly as I can. If I'm going to be discouraged about anything, it must be something serious so it has be taken seriously and solved as fast as can be. I would try to block away any negative people/things away so I can focus on the good things in life and try to forget about whatever is making me feel this way. If that doesn't work, I would go to my parents for help... My dad to be exact.

I would never let something like this "win" against me. It wouldn't feel normal. There may have been times where I didn;t even try to solve the problem, it must have been because it wasn't that important and would have solved nothing afterwards.

Ive never been discouraged. ii hear that its isnt fun. so if you dont want to be discouraged be like me

If anyone has hung out with me , you'll see that I'm always discourage . I find myself caring about what others say . I would cry when I get called "Gay" in school all the time . I don't find it wrong or anything , but I find it as a harsh thing to say to people when they're really not. It would make me wonder " What If I was Gay ? " Meanwhile, all the gay guys in our school are living the life. I find my town to be so homophobic and it's not right . We don't even have a Gay straight alliance club. Anyways, I hate how people would turn on me. I don't know why I keep going back to the people that hurt me . I've been told that I'm feminine a lot this year, and I feel like everyone is saying that a guy can't be friendly at all. I have a girlfriend and everything. Everyone talks about me, talk behind my back, and even mess with me . The Fact that I have most girls as friends, all they do is talk about me . I hate everyone in that school, but I have the individual friends that I can depend on. To tell you the truth, all they want is for me to gay . I wouldn't mind though (; lmfao ! . But yeah ! I always get discouraged when I'm at school. Everyone at school are always acting "Fruity" and everything, but when it comes to me, I am always getting called a million names. "I walk in school with one name and leave with a million" Thank GOD I have friends that love me the same way I love him, or I would've killed myself already. I know I've been writing a lot, but I just have a lot of pain from all the things that happen in school.

Anyways, yeah it's easy to get discouraged as anothers opinion means a lot to me and when someone tells me something I take a while to ignore everyone else and think about it, that's just me. I've been discouraged so many times but I seem to stick to what I want. I'm not saying I don't give up because I do, but only for a while. Not too much of a problem, I'm probably just lazy but I wish it would stop.

More often or not, just deal with it lol. Can really say much more than that.

I've never really been discourage. Must be a mindset sort of thing.

I look at a hamster carrying a 50lb. dog.

My dad used to put me down a lot when I was little, but honestly I'm glad he did that because it's made me stronger and helped me deal with discouragement and helped me believe that you really can do anything you set your mind to. It doesn't bother me anymore, no matter who it's from. I just keep my chin up and walk proud.

I joke about it. Eases the pain.
